By the very nature of our business we are in constant contact with the public both in our offices and at their properties. To fulfil our responsibilities to both our staff and clients we have put in place a contingency plan to minimise the risk to health of our staff and clients whilst continuing our business activities as effectively as possible. By doing this we hope to continue to provide the best possible level of service we can in these difficult circumstances.
Our client’s needs are many and varied. For example, home buyers still need surveys carrying out, tenants need to be kept safe by our contractors carrying out essential works and safety checks and landlords need to be paid to cover their financial liabilities.
We have put in place a series of measures aimed at maintaining “business as usual” as much as possible, whilst taking into account current guidelines to minimise the health risk.
Our office remains open, subject to some restrictions, but we will carry out as much business as possible by phone, email and other remote means. Our office opening hours will remain as usual 9.00 to 5.30 Monday to Friday, but until further notice we will not open on Saturdays although the phones will be monitored remotely. We have adapted our viewing arrangements for properties both for sale and to rent, providing video viewings and carefully managing actual viewings particularly of occupied properties. Applications for new tenancies can still be processed as can sales and rental payments.
Our survey and professional department remains very much open and we will continue to carry out inspections subject to health guidelines. Our auction scheduled for 30th April will still go ahead, but be held online rather than at a physical venue.
We are very conscious that everyone continues to have the essential requirement of maintaining a roof over the head of their family or business and bearing in mind the uncertain length of the current situation it is essential that we do everything possible to fulfil this need. Everyone has enough to worry about in terms of their own jobs, health and family.
Our individual departments (Sales, Auction, Lettings & Management, Survey & Professional and Commercial) will be providing more detail on the specific changes that will affect our various types of client and we will be constantly reviewing any changes in the situation and our response to it.
